Abstract: In the center of the research interest is the problem of the dialogic reading of works from two arts – literature and cinema, which interpret the same plot. The hermeneutic reading of the texts is a provocation to the research and creative possibilities of young people and enables the free expression of emotional experience, ethical evaluation and aesthetic reflection on the part of the learners. They are based on a comparison between the different points of view of the authors in the interpretation of a common problem, determined by the nature of the art in the field in which they work, by the specificity of the era or the characterology of the methodological direction to which they belong.
The purpose of the research is determined by the understanding of the dialogical nature of culture and is subordinated to the aspiration to develop and improve communicative, social, cultural and digital competences in young people – basic in modern education.
Dialogism conditions interdisciplinarity in literature education, and it is seen as one of the projections of interactive learning. Such an approach to the analysis of a problem interpreted by two arts promotes creativity and creates an opportunity to enrich knowledge, to develop skills for synthesis of information and to connect knowledge in a system.
Dialogic reading implies the use of the problem approach, the cultural approach and the comparative analysis. It supports both the formation of a subjective point of view towards certain moral, aesthetic, philosophical and existential problems, as well as the development of the ability for teamwork through project-based learning.
As a result of the application of the interdisciplinary approach in literature education, the convergence of knowledge is achieved by understanding the problem from different points of view, determined by the peculiarities of different arts; interactions are clarified – such as interdependence or causation; methods are compared; the research toolkit is enriched; skills for analysis and synthesis of information are created, creativity is provoked in young people by outlining common fields of knowledge.
In the dialogical reading, points of contact and differences in interpretation of the same topic stand out. It presents the value characteristic of the problem from different angles. Such an approach enriches the messages of the text, and the application of the research tools of other arts saturates the sensitivity, perception and capabilities of the analyst with additional meaning and turns reading into an adventure, encounter and discovery.
