Abstract: The research goal of this theoretical paper will focus on social changes and their impact on the education system in the 21st century, taking into account educational and social reform trends in line with contemporary demands and the influence of globalization on education. Education and schooling are two fundamental pillars for building a person’s character. The approach to the sociological philosophy of education and schooling has a very broad scope of action, and therefore, I will not delve into scientific variants on this topic, but rather make an approximate attempt to find both education and schooling within the social sciences group, as a driver of contemporary society in Europe and beyond. In modern societies, numerous social, political, cultural, technological, and economic changes occur, which directly or indirectly affect the learning outcomes that schools must achieve. These involve the self-confidence of students and teachers in addressing specific civic and social responsibilities, built on the competencies for full participation in society, based on knowledge, skills, and continuous learning, especially concerning the labor market.
Changes in education imply the reorganization of the teaching process. These changes, in short, are called reforms. The main imperative of these changes is the implementation of modern 21st-century teaching and grading, using new methods in the teaching process and assessing the achievements of students in learning. To achieve these changes, teachers must work as a team, and their role and contribution should not be limited solely to teaching frameworks.
